Bala Lake Hotel and Activity Base

Fantastic experience. Well looked after by a team of professional co-owners (Partners) that work very hard, are passionate and clearly care about their customers. Nothing is too much trouble, the grounds and hotel are immaculately kept and food is to a high standard. Activities tried included bike hire, golf, Cyber Tag, Zip Wire and treatments in the spa. All were excellent. The hotel activities, facilities, restaurant, bar and some accommodation are also open to the public - i.e. people that aren’t employees of John Lewis. Can’t wait to go back!

A great spot nestled in Snowdonia national park! Bala lake is stunning! Some really nice places you can eat out in Bala town to!

Stunning location with very friendly staff. Barman with glasses was friendly and helpful. (Arrived 2pm on bank holiday Monday) Had a look around, enjoyed a sandwich and a coffee. Gill was extremely friendly and helped very much with our vegetarian needs, such a lovely atmosphere. Will be booking a stay here for October and can’t wait.

Superb experience at Bala Lake Hotel. Everything was perfect and faultless. Super clean and comfy room and bed. Amazing views and absolutely outstanding customer service. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Bala Hotel staff and admin for making our stay so special for my partner's birthday celeb in your hotel. The room given to us was perfect with extra birthday package complimentaries. I would definitely come back here and recommend this place to my friends and clients in travel business. Best place to spend for rest and relaxation with so much activities in store with leisure facilities. Everything you could ask for a sweet holiday escapade.

We had an amazing stay. The staff were all very lovely and friendly, extremely helpful and very happy probably the best experience I've had in a hotel in a long time. We took part in a lot of activities and the activity staff were great and we had loads of fun. I had a fear of heights but really wanted to do the zipline. They were so patient keeping me calm, talking me through my anxieties so that ultimately I could go on 3 of the Ziplines and feel great that I accomplished this. I would wholeheartedly recommend this location. Having never been before we stayed close exploring the local activities. Next time we can use it as a base and explore more of the area. Loved it All the food was lovely, I especially enjoyed the sea food linguine and whoever cooked the breakfast on Wednesday the mushrooms were amazing. Friday morning the hash brown was great.

Great activity centre with a selection of activities from Segway, archery, laser clay and zip lines to escape rooms and fantastic spa facilities. Would definitely recommend

Happened upon this gem by chance today. Had a lovely lunch. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They catered for our Gluten free and vegetarian needs. Beautiful views and lots of activities on offer so we will be back for day trips and are looking forward to booking a weekend here later in the year. Specific Thanks to Gill our waitress who was extra informative about the area and went the extra mile to help with our dietary requirements.

What a place, stunning views, staff are so friendly and nothing seems to much for them. Food was fantastic as was the service. Thank you all so much. 5 stars and if it were possible they would get a 10 from me.

What a beautiful area to stay. The grounds are very well kept and there's a small golf course out front. There is a good play area with a zip wire rope. Glad to say they are dog friendly as well. You can see Bala lake through the trees. Plenty of room to sit outside on picnic tables for a cream tea or lunch. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We couldn't of asked for better service. They even knew our dog Barnies name and gave him dog treats. Nice touch. The food was lovely and a good choice. There's a nice swimming pool you need to book as it's not massive. My grandchildren also enjoyed the hot tub. There is a play room and in the main building there were lots of board games for families to play. Only one problem really, l wish we could of stayed longer.

We visited this weekend for a Murder Mystery event. The event was superbly managed and led by the Activities team members. Great value. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The dinner menu was great and the food and service were excellent.
